‘Tis the season? What is the reason?

As I reflect over the past year, and ponder the meaning of the holidays – I wonder what it is all about?  For many of us the month of December is a time to overindulge, spend money we don’t have, eat voraciously, and spent time with people we don’t normally see. It can often mean stress, fighting, high expectations and disappointment.  What would you like this holiday season?  Is it time to do things differently? What would you change? Here are a few ideas:

Make the season less about things and more about experiences. Spend more time in nature.

Stop doing and start being. Purposely breathe in and breathe out. Stay in the moment.

Reduce the number of social functions you attend. All that food and alcohol is sometimes just too much.

Curl up with a good book and a hot chocolate in front of the fireplace and escape.

Sleep late.

Spend more time with your partner and immediate family doing simple things that are enjoyable – not stressful.

Do it differently this season. Take time for yourself. Be still. Enjoy the moment without judgment or fear.  Wishing you and your family peace, joy and happiness in this season. Take care. Be well.

Listening. Guiding. Caring.
